The Catholic Church In 788 AD they formally adopted the “Adoration of Mary”. From this they have developed the “Hail Mary” prayer that they pray to her. In 998 AD they instituted fasting, eating only fish meat on Friday, the observance of Lent and Good Friday. In 1090 AD the Rosary was introduced. Two little girls claimed they saw a vision of Mary who gave them a Rosary and instructions on how to use it to pray. Between the 10th and 12th centuries, mechanical instruments of music were introduced into the Roman Catholic Church. In 1160 AD they began “canonization” of “Saints”. In 1311 AD they substituted sprinkling for immersion and called it baptism. In 1414 AD they deprived the “laity” of drinking the cup when observing the Lord’s Supper. Misc. Catholic Teachings:
