YOUR REFLECTION SHOULD… Name supporting documents “Source A”, “Source B”, and “Source C” etc. Include student quotes (using their own words from their own papers) & these should be highlighted. Portfolio will have all referenced documents attached.

Reflection demonstrates awareness of how aspects of writing affect tone and meaning, including: – choices of syntax, – grammar, – organization, – theme, – thesis, – evidence, – and diction

*WAYS TO ORGANIZE Chronological – look at growth over time For example: – Body Paragraph 1: writing in first quarter (hero project/Beowulf) – Body Paragraph 2: writing in second quarter (Macbeth/learning analysis) – Body Paragraph 3: writing in third quarter (LOTF/refining analysis)

*WAYS TO ORGANIZE Area specific – look at growth in certain area of writing For example: – Body Paragraph 1: analyzing literature (compare writing Macbeth essay to LOTF essay) – Body Paragraph 2: sentence structure (compare growth over time) – Body Paragraph 3: incorporating quotes (compare growth over time – from Beowulf to LOTF, or Macbeth to LOTF, etc.)
