603 A DIGITAL PROGRAMMABLE ROBOT OVERVIEW: BASED ON CONCEPT OF PLC. IS PROGRAMMABLE USING A KEYPAD. POWERED BY A 9 VOLT BATTERY. INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE PROGRAMMED INTO MEMORY IN A SEQUENCTIAL FASHION. OPERATING FREQUENCY(SPEED) CAN BE VARIED USING A CLOCK CIRCUIT. HAS HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE RESET FACILITY.

ADDRESS COUNTER USES A CMOS BINARY COUNTER IC CONTAINS 12 COUNTING STAGES OUTPUTTING FROM 0 TO 111111111111. ONLY 8 STAGES OF THE COUNTER ARE USED. AUDIO OSCILLATOR DESIGNED TO OPERATE AT A HIGHER FREQUENCY THAN THE CLOCK MOTOR DRIVE CIRCUIT HAS TWO IDENCITAL MOTOR DRIVE CIRCUITS- LEFT AND RIGHT CONSISTS OF ELCTRONIC SWITCHES LED INDICATOR CIRCUIT USED AS A WARNING TO INDICATE THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS. MEMORY CAN ALSO BE PROGRAMMED TO LIGHT THE LED KEY PAD USED TO PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS INTO THE ROBOT’S MEMORY CONSISTS OF 5 SWITCHES AND TWO JUMPERS.

MECHANICS OF 603 A ROBOT PERFORMS TWO BASIC TASKS TRANSFER POWER FROM THE MOTORS TO THE WHEELS PROVIDE THE STEERING FUNCTION TASKS ARE ACCOMPOLISHED BY A SERIES OF GEARS CALLED THE DRIVE TRAINS. MOTORS RUN WELL ONLY WHEN GEARS ARE TURINING AT A CERTAIN SPEED. A PROPER COMBINATION OF THE RIGHT KINDS OF GEARS IS A MUST TO CONTROL THE SPEED AND PRODUCE THE REQUIRED TORQUE. STEERING IS ACCOMPOLISHED BY OPERATING ONLY ONE MOTOR AT A TIME.
