The Hungarian facts - Nowadays Hungary hasn’t got energy efficiency action plan - Hungary created and accepted the new general energy policy (2007-2020) with governmental decision in 28th November 2007 - The three main aims of the Hungarian energy policy: - Security of supply - Competitiveness - Sustainability

The Hungarian facts - From 1999 the Hungarian Government supported 240.000 applications in its long term energy efficiency program. - From 1991 the total costs of the all the energy efficiency programs subsidies: 160 million Euros – this ment 17-18 PJ/year saving - The EU aims: 1%/year – it means 6,38 PJ/year energy saving in Hungary

II. The basic aims of the NEEAP 1./The final energy consumption in a year in Hungary: 177 276 GWh (638,2 PJ). 2./The target of the Hungarian energy saving: 1%/ year energy saving:1.773 GWh/year; (6.38 PJ/year) 2008-2016 : 15.955 GWh (57,4 PJ)

III. The Hungarian peculiarities 1./ The total costs is about 9.18-11.48 billion Euros for the realization of the 1% energy saving targets between 2008-2016. 2./ The need for support from the state: 300-360 million Euros/year ( total for 9 years: 2.76-3.44 billion Euros) 3./ Now we have only 166 million Euros for supporting these targets in the „ New Hungary National Development Plan”, Environment and Energy Operation Program.
