Organic farming It is proposed to establish 25 frontline demonstration plots in various university centres for the technology dissemination of organic cultivation of various spice crops. ii. Multi-species cropping system in Arecanut garden Introduction of multi-species cropping in arecanut garden aimed at increasing the net returns from unit area will help the farmers to withstand the fluctuating prices of arecanut. Hence it is proposed to establish front line demonstration plots for demonstration of multi-species cropping in arecanut gardens.

26. 26 National workshops on methodological issues in spices statistics There is lot of discrepancies in the estimates of area and production of spices among different agencies involved in the country. It is felt that all these agencies to review the existing methodology and develop a refined and uniform methodology to be adopted throughout the country.
