Remainders wanted is a game that reinforces long division of two and three digit numbers by a one digit divisor. For this game, pairs of students will need: one game board two dice one recording sheet 20 counters
12
To play, each student should have ten counters. Students will take turns covering a number on the game board with a counter, rolling the die and dividing the number covered by the number rolled on the die. The remainder is the student’s score for that round. Play continues until all of the counters have been used ((((ten rounds). Students will add up their scores for each of the ten rounds. The player with the highest score is the winner.
