Boxer has Committed to… At least two hearings and some briefings on legislation before marking up in Full Committee. (hearings completed Nov. 8 and 13.) Moving a bill before the UN Climate Conference (scheduled for Dec. 5-14), now scheduled for Dec. 5 (and maybe 6 th ).

Democrats Want Stronger Targets Hillary Clinton issued a recent statement on greater auctions and stronger targets – facing pressure from Edwards and Far-Left enviros on targets. Tom Carper wants multi-pollutant legislation attached. Also, output based allocation. Bernie Sanders opposed bill in subcommittee – said it is not strong enough. Sheldon Whitehouse has called for strengthening targets.

EPW GOP trying to slow the process... Kit Bond: "I'm not going to support something that tries to mandate results that science can't achieve." George Voinovich: "Increasing home heating costs by 38 to 45 percent would have real impact outside of the Beltway, especially for those living on fixed incomes." Larry Craig has expressed similar sentiments. Johnny Isakson has talked about nuclear. John Barrasso has talked about clean coal. Lamar Alexander has said he wants to vote for a bill, but also talked about sector by sector.
