3 Politics, Population, Founded  Population - south Carolina populations increased more than 2 % each year. right the population is over 40 thousand.  Founded - south Carolina was founded on may 23 1788 by Pierced Bulter.  Politics - prior to the 1960s the state democratic party was firmly control of the government of i south Carolina.
