2  Nicotine reaches the brain within 10 minutes after each smoke is inhaled.  One in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age.  Smoking causes one in five deaths from heart disease.  Lung cancer is caused by the tar in tobacco smoke. People who smoke are ten times more likely to die from lung cancer than non smokers.

3 The cost of smoking  1 pack a day. If one pack costs 15.00$ then in one year you will have spent about $5,475 a year.  2 packs a day would cost you $10,950 a year.

6 Helping programs  There are many programs available to help kick the habit.  The Canadian cancer society, smokers helpline and many other organizations have helped smokers.

7  I believe that making the choice of not smoking will have a positive impact on my life. This will reduce the risk of various cancers, and other diseases related to smoking.

8 Don’t be a statistic.
