2  Law on Civil Service of the Republic of Lithuania;  Procedures of control, approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs;  Regulation of Civil Service Department under the Ministry of the Interior, approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs;  Plans of control for quarters of a year, approved by the Director of Civil Service Department under the Ministry of the Interior. Control of implementation of the law on civil service and related legislation is regulated by:

3  To ensure the implementation of Law on Civil Service and legal acts related to it,  To exercise the monitoring of implementation and advice on improvement of legal acts in order to create professional and efficient civil service. Purpose of control (1)

4  While controlling the implementation and practical application of legal acts it is important to find out :  How the provisions of legal acts operate in practice; what are the problems of it’s implementation,  Possible changes of legal acts;  To give advice concerning amendments and improvement of legal acts. Purpose of control (2)

5  Control implemented by Civil service department could be:  planned;  unplanned.  Participation in civil servants competition as observers.  Monitoring. Types of control

6  Recruitment to the civil service;  Organization of competitions;  Evaluation of civil servants;  Remuneration;  Responsibility of civil servants;  Social and other guarantees. Subjects of control

7  Plan of control for a quarter of the year ;  Written order for control;  Procedures of control in public institutions ;  Results of control;  Control on elimination of infringements. Procedures of control

8  During one year period control is carried out in 50 public institutions;  The basic infringements are connected with:  Organization of competitions;  Evaluation of civil servants. Statistics
