Glacier Any large mass of ice that moves slowly over land
There are 2 kinds of glaciers continental and valley

Continental Valley A glacier that covers much of a continent or large island A long narrow glacier that forms when snow and ice build up high in a mountain valley

Ice Ages When continental glaciers have covered large parts of Earths surface Plucking When rocks freeze at the bottom of glaciers while they’re moving

Till The mixture of sediments that a glacier deposits directly on the surface Ex. Clay silt sand and gravel Moraine Till deposited at the edges of a glacier forming a ridge Kettle A small depression that forms when a chuck of ice is left in a glacial till

Valley and continental How does a valley glacier form and move? When snow and ice move How do glaciers cause erosion and deposition? It brings up some of the snow and erodes it
