4 Information Diagram Info 1 Info 2 Info 3 The Chilterns are only a few miles north of London yet you can see the acre upon acre of unspoilt land. There are many times of rare birds seen in the Chilterns for example the Red Kite. These are Wonderful birds. There are many activities in the Chiltern Hills, with over 2000km of Cycle tracks and hiking tracks.

5 InformationInformation The Chilterns are an area of outstanding beauty in the natural world, they have not been stained by pollution that thrives over London which is only a few miles south. Things you should know: Their highest point is 267m at Haddington Hill in Wendover Woods, Buckinghamshire, near Wendover; a stone marks the summit or peak. The Chiltern Hills are a chalk escarpment in England that stretches in a south-west to north-east diagonal from Goring-On-Thames to Luton, but is at its highest point in Buckinghamshire. Definition Escarpment: An escarpment is a transition zone between different physical geographic provinces that involves an elevation different, often involving high cliffs.

8 HistoryHistory The history of the Chilterns goes back along while, even longer than the History of the clock, the Chilterns were created some few million years ago. It has become a major tourist attraction since then. They were formed approx. 6 million years ago from glaciers hardening. The rock then turned into chalk, which formed the hills and mounds. The Chilterns cover over 600sqm, in the area there are rolling hills valleys And streams.

9 Armageddon in the Chilterns During the Bunsfield Oil Depot much of the beauty was destroyed, some animals were choked to death by the smoke and their close proximity to the fire.

10 Who’s older? Many people think that places like Mt Everest are old mountains because of there size but places such as the Chilterns are older as they have decreased in size as thy get older just like humans shrink when they get older.

12 Sites There are many sites to see for example: Haddington Hill the highest point at 267m There is over 2km of bike riding trails
