Stonehenge a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire in the south of England the ring of huge standing sandstones, 33 metres wide in average weight of stones – 45 tonnes, 6-7 metres high constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC why and who built this monument - a secret, maybe it was built by 3 tribes in different time periods added to the UNESCO’s list in 1986 nowadays - a tourist attraction known all over the world purposes: - used for the astronomy – a gigantic calendar - organised religious rituals, a tomb for dead people - magical stones – help to cure ill people
