Go over Bellringer Complete the “Energy in Earth’s Atmosphere” graphic organizer. Take notes on the greenhouse effect. Complete the Greenhouse Effect Lab.

Greenhouse Effect The process by which gases hold heat in the air, warming the atmosphere. The atmosphere is almost like a “blanket” around the earth.

Control Groups The control group in an experiment is the group that nothing is done to. The control is left alone so that the other variables may be compared to it. You are testing whether temperature has an effect on the breaking point of rubber bands. You take one rubber band and put it in the freezer Another is heated A third rubber band is left at room temperature

Control Groups You are testing whether plants grow better with fertilizer. You plant one plant in regular soil Another plant is planted in soil with fertilizer
