Main purpose for being at the Purcellville Music and Arts festival @Fireman’s Field (May 16 th ) was to collect intercept surveys from vendors and attendees Secondary purpose was to provide assistance and help to vendors and attendees After the festival counted the number of intercept surveys received Compiled the intercept survey data into an Excel spreadsheet such as emails, names, phone numbers, etc. and analyzed the common trends based on the follow up questions on the intercept survey Used Survey Monkey to create more in-depth questions for the attendees and vendors Emailed survey questions to vendors and attendees Reviewed and analyzed the received responses Wrote a page summary, on both surveys, based on the results In addition, analyzed another past event (Loudoun Grown Expo March 2015) and searched articles/other related sources about the Purcellville Wine and food festival/Purcellville Music and Arts Festival

During the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival, I handed out surveys (yellow, half sheets of paper) in order to collect information, which Purcellville Parks and Recreation Board will use to improve the future Festivals In addition to collecting surveys, I helped assist the vendors, and helped visitors get around the festival grounds by providing information about the event
7
The first survey questions sent out was the Attendee Survey I used Survey Monkey to create questions that would give us feedback and results which could be used to create a better festival for next year 123 attendees were collected (from the intercept survey) out of 1500 total individuals at the festival (10%) Of those 123 attendees, we sent out 99 more in-depth surveys and received 26 respondents (26%) The common trend in this survey were the number of local residents that attended the festival and came in groups of 3-4 (most likely families or teenagers) Most of the attendees were local, although a few came from other states such as Pennsylvania and New Hampshire 68% of attendees did not attend last years 2014 Purcellville Music and Arts Festival, but many had great reviews for this year’s 2015 PMAF Many were pleased with the trolley service and gave it good reviews Most attendees spent above 50 dollars while at the festival On average, most attendees ranked the festival to be a 4 out of 5 Most of the attendees heard about the festival through word of mouth. One of the major improvement attendees wanted to see, for next year’s festival, was the increase of sign usage.

The second survey that was sent out was the Vendor Survey The more in-depth questions were edited on Survey Monkey for the vendors. These surveys give us feedback and results which could be used to create, a more enjoyable, festival for the vendors We sent out 14 more in-depth surveys to the vendors and received 7 responses (50%) The majority of vendors (5/7 or 71%) ranked the festival a 4 out of 5 based on how they thought the festival met their expectations Based on the survey results the main estimated sales most of the vendors had were between $1-1,000 (5/7 or 71% of the vendors selected that choice) Most of the vendors thought the festival wasn’t well attended, but the counter argument to that is, the Parks and Recreation Board should have increased the marketing strategy for the vendors

This survey was sent out on March 16 We used Survey Monkey to create the more in-depth questions for the individuals that came to the Festival The more in-depth survey was sent out to 400 attendees and we received 95 respondents (24%) 66% or 61/93 of respondents indicated that their primary reason for being in the area was to attend the expo Most of the attendees (63% or 57/91) attended the event between 1-2 hours. 94% of the attendees live in the area 65/91 of the attendees didn’t come to last year’s expo. The majority of respondents gave the expo a 4 out of 5 based on their experience
