Five Types of Conflict Man vs. Man – when a character is opposed to another character Man vs. Nature- when a character is faced with an obstacle brought on by nature Man vs. Himself – when a character battles with an issue within him or herself Man vs. Society – when a character’s beliefs are against those of a larger group Man vs. Supernatural – when a character faces a problem against the laws of nature and scientific understanding
