CONTINUITY vs STAGES new abilities, skills & knowledge gradually added at a relatively uniform pace continuity model suggests that adult thinking & intelligence differ quantitatively from a child’s development occurs at different rates, alternating between periods of changes; little vs abrupt Piaget - cognitive Erikson - personality Kohlberg - moral

CHANGE vs STABILITY Does your current personality bear little resemblance to the personality you displayed during your infancy? Psychologists who emphasize stability in development hold that measurement of personality taken during childhood are important predictors of personality. Have you generally maintained your personal characteristics as you matured from infant to adult?

Growth Spurts? What was your height and weight when you were born? At age 5? When could you roll over, situp, walk, climb, run, put on shoes, use scissors, skip?

Scrap booking time for all proud parents!!- INFANCY The Event : Today, your baby rolled over for the first time!!! And even better you caught the “Kodak” moment! Describe what physical development led to this moment. Describe the social impact that influenced this big moment. When your baby tried to touch the electrical outlet how did you correct him/her (moral) ? What was your baby thinking ( cognitive) when he/she did this? Include his/her pic and journal this activity!
