HR At the Secretariat Secretariat: Coordinator : one person Adviser : one person (part time) Support to network : (one person) Admn support from WASSAN team Informal / adhoc support from wassan team Thematic Areas: Fisheries : 1 person (supported by fisheries team at wassan occassionally) Millets : (started from Dec, 2012) – one full-time person Livestock : One full-time person upto February, 2013

2 & 3 Support to CPs & TNs 1.Developing operational framework: – Framework for arriving at key milestones – Tiptur workshop (hosted by IDF) with all CP partners & TN Thematic orientation Providing a framework for arriving at milestones till kharif Facilitating development of action plans to meet kharif milestones. 2.Support to CPs in action : Malkangiri: – Review, conceptual and program development at the district level – Exploring with Kandhmal district 3.Back-end support to Thematic Nodes: – Regular interactions – Orienting the new team members

Networking and Partnership Development Google group.. Continuing; a daily digest of relevant news; membership expanding 200+ Partnerships: – Series of discussions with MANAGE. Resulted in MANAGE developing a) training programs including 2 workshops on RRA and b) an action research program >> allocated Rs.10 lakhs for the action research in Mahabubnagar and Malkangiri (pursuading to take up Palamau also) – Interaction with NIRD – no outputs as yet – Interaction with CRIDA – on going – partnership in the national workshop – Proposal with TERI (Palamau and Malkangiri) for DST

Support to ReSRA Anchoring the team – Admn support Supported in the collaboration with IIED – Developing policy briefs Support to the full-time researchers in building data bases Support to the ‘indicators’ development exercise (~~ Hippu, NIAS)

Advocacy NATIONAL LEVEL: Supporting the advocacy efforts with Planning Commission: (key contributors – Vijay Shankar, Rajeswari) – Series of meetings with Planning Commission – Discussion with NRLM on MKSP – Discussion with Ministry of Agriculture National Workshop on RFS: financially supported by FAO at CRIDA 14-15 th May,2013 Support to Malkangiri network to present about RRA to the Minister, MoRD. Representing RRA network in several workshops/ meetings STATE LEVEL : Workshop at IMAGE, Bhubaneswar initiated by Udyama – did not go forward. OUTPUTS: MKSP – not going anywhere 12 th Plan Document : has clearly recommended the program on NRFS; high probability of MoA taking up this program in 12 th Plan as a pilot.

Developing Larger Programs This is a stream WASSAN is pursuing… will be extended to other states in course of time: – State level programs on : Fisheries (integrating NREGS, Fisheries Dept, NFDB, SERP) Community Managed Seed Systems : with Dept of Agrl Small Ruminants Development Program – with Dept of AH Collectivization/ Protecting of Rainfed Crops
