New process efficiencies Patrons search for and identify the resource they want to borrow – format, edition, language – no need for follow-up queries Patrons enter in their contact information OCLC request ID # and confirmation to patron upon submission Request goes directly to WorldShare ILL – no re-keying of data Collection Development staff review request in WorldShare ILL and decide to buy or borrow – no need for ILL account Collection Development staff submit borrowing request – reduces number of times request is ‘touched’ by staff

New process service improvements Patrons have access to a broader array of materials in their area of interest Easy links to free, online digital resources available through Haithi Trust and Project Gutenberg Knowledge base provides opportunity for access to full- text databases Interlibrary loan staff freed up to assist with other patron services and library initiatives
