3 Hades (cont.) In this vase, Hades shows his loyalty to his wife, Persephone and it shows how regal he is with the clothes he is wearing. It seems to me that he is giving something to Persephone. I decided to use this picture because of how skillfully the picture was engraved onto the pot. Also, I like the fact that the image was able to be preserved over such a period of time up to now. I think the engraving on the pot is incredibly detailed. This vase depicts Hades on the right as well as his wife Persephone on the left. Created in ca. 470 BC, Italy.

4 Hades (cont.) In this image, Hades is appeared to be sitting on his throne with Cerberus, the guard dog of the Underworld, by his side. Hades looks stern and shows a blank expression here. Perhaps he is listening to someone talk. Or maybe he's contemplating. Here, as well as the other picture, he shows his godliness and how regal he is. This picture spoke to me in how simple this picture was drawn, yet it is very detailed in the way the wrinkles in his clothes were drawn and Hades' stature. Because of this, I decided to add it to this presentation. Hades and Cerberus, created in 1888
