egenrieder f:\aps-school\admin\allocation Terminology (cont.) 1.0 teaching position – full-time, 6 classes Part-time positions – less than 6 classes (.17,.2,.33,.5,.67, or.8) Stipends – special pay for special tasks, particularly for after-hours activities (practices, performances, meetings) 105:1 Ratio – a metric of the student to staff ratio, with 105:1 as an average Projected Enrollment – based on green course-request forms

HILT – High Intensity Language Training program CORE classes – middle school English, Math, Social Studies, Science and PE CORE-Plus – special classes for students benefiting from smaller classes SOL courses – Courses based on standardized curriculum with end-of-course exams (and other requirements) Certification/licensure – Teachers must meet state and federal requirements to teach specific courses
