Aviary’s Myna Audio Editor A more innovative, free, online audio editing program

How Can you Benefit From Using Myna? Professors, Faculty and Students, learning to use Myna will enable you to… – Have quick, and easy access to Myna since it is online – When you have a long recorded presentation, but wish to use just a portion of the audio, you can use Myna to crop out the portion of the audio you don’t wish to use – Will allow you to have more efficient and effective presentations

In Order to Use Myna learners must have an audio file on their computer in a “.wav,.aif,.mp3,.wma,.m4a,.ogg” format in order to complete this lesson

You may already know how to… Use an audio editing program Insert audio into your instructional programs Save audio onto your computer

Lets Get Started Now that you understand the goals and objectives let’s create an Aviary account

Open web browser and go to Aviary.com Aviary.com Click the sign up yellow button located at the top of the right hand screen

Create Your Free Account Page Type in username that must be at least 4-15 letters and numbers Type in email address Create a password that must be at least 5 characters

Now that you are a member… Click the Audio Editor Myna button

An Overview of the Audio Editing Screen The top part of the screen is Menu Bar where you can file, save, edit, view all of the track information and transport your audio

Myna’s own Navigation Buttons Located to the right Here you can easily edit the track Select different parts of the audio Scroll through your audio

Importing Audio to Edit Located in the bottom left hand part of the screen is the Import button

Imported Audio All of your imported audio will be located in it’s own table located to the right of the screen This is so that it is easily accessible Simply click and drag the audio onto the different tracks

Cropping your Imported Clip To crop your imported clip simply click and drag the arrow button located at the top left hand corner of your audio clip

Saving your Audio Clip Click the save button located at the top right hand side of the screen Myna will remind you to save your work!

Mixdown After you have saved your work a Mixdown box will appear By pressing the Mixdown button you are allowing for your saved project to have it’s own mix You can also share your project with others

Pressing Mixdown When you press the Mixdown button this screen will appear This is rendering the mix into a audio file, which you can export to your desk top or publish to the server

Now you have converted your audio into a MP3 This screen will appear after Mixdown is completed

Downloading MP3 Click download MP3 A “Are you sure you want to download box will appear”

Saving to Computer Save to your music file Then click save
