ONCE WE ARE SAVED DO WE STAY SAVED OR DO CAN WE BECOME “UNSAVED”?
4
1. Two different opinions regarding our salvation Once saved always saved.
5
John 10:27-30 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."
6
Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
7
1. Two different opinions regarding our salvation Once saved always saved. We can lose our salvation.
8
Matthew 12:3-9 Then he [Jesus] told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
9
Matthew 12:3-9 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-- a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear."
10
Matthew 12:18, 20-21 "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

The Faulty Fall-Out of Our Theology

1. Two different opinions regarding our salvation Once saved always saved. (This theology has the potential to minimize the importance of ministry, discipleship and holiness.) We can lose our salvation. (This theology has the potential to cause us to become inwardly focused and deteriorate into legalism.)
14
2. What do we do?
15
Matthew 6:33 (NKJ) "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
16
Matthew 6:33 (NLT) and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
17
2. What do we do? Seek the Kingdom and the King.
18
Matthew 22:35-39 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him," 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the first and great commandment." And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
