Discussion Questions On what occasion did Philip step out of character as a cautious, matter-of-fact man? Bringing Nathanael to Jesus How can his advice to Nathaniel, “Come and see!” become a witnessing tool for the Church of our day? That’s all we have to say to a friend, God creates the faith in his Son. Not hard, share the joy you have with others. Really hard to mess this up!

Discussion Questions Does Jesus find us or do we find Jesus? Explain your answer. Jesus finds us, he creates faith in us. How can the over-practical attitude become harmful to the Church’s work and a hindrance to its progress? How can it be helpful? Harmful = too much focus on numbers and logistics, not trusting in God to provide Helpful = not enough focus on numbers and logistics

Discussion Questions Discuss Philip’s plea, “Lord, show us the Father.” Should it have been asked at all? What was Jesus’ answer? (John 14:6-9) Should not have been asked at all. Seeing Jesus = seeing the Father; he is God himself. Do you know anyone with Philip's characteristics? Practical person, direct, knows the numbers
