Why include a BIBLIOGRAPHY? We include a BIBLIOGRAPHY whenever we do research. The purpose of a BIBLIOGRAPHY is: *serve as a record of writings we used to get our information (in case we need to go back and read it again later) *give credit to the authors who wrote the texts we used to get our information for the research/assignment.

Books: Include: Author’s last name, first name Full title of the book (underlined) Publisher’s name Year of publication (copyright date ©) Your list of books will be listed alphabetically. Example: Budden, Julian. The Operas of Verdi. Oxford. 1992. Horton, Casey. Endangered Bears. Benchmark Books. 1996.

Journal Article/ Magazine/ Encyclopedia: Include: Author’s last name, first name Full title of the article from the source Title of the journal/encyclopedia/magazine Volume number Year of publication. Pages of the article used Your list of sources will be listed alphabetically. Example: Mohanty, J.M. Indian Philosophy. The New Encyclopedia Britanica, 15 ed.1987 Vartanov, Anri. Television as Spectacle. Journal of Communication, 41. 1991. 162-171.

Internet Website Include: Author’s Name. Title of Document. Date of last update or publication. Name of Institution associated with the site. Internet URL address. Example: Oakley, John.
