PRE-ADMINISTRATION FOR AP EXAMS ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE PRE- ADMINISTRATION PAPERWORK! THREE opportunities to complete paperwork: Mon., April 18 at 2:30 – conference center Tues., April 19 at 9:00 – food court Thurs., April 21 at 2:30 – conference center Bring 2 No. 2 pencils with erasers and a blue or black ink pen. Bring social security number (optional)

SCORING To obtain a grade of 3 or higher students must: Answer correctly a little more than 50% of multiple choice Do acceptable work on free-response section

Multiple choice score Based on number of student’s correct answers minus a fraction of number of incorrect answers For questions with 5 answer choices – ¼ pt. deducted for incorrect answer For questions with 4 answer choices – 1/3 pt. deducted for incorrect answer NO PTS. DEDUCTED FOR UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

W HEN TO G UESS Guessing can be to your advantage when: You have some knowledge of a question and You can eliminate one or more answer choices

TEST DAY Report to the conference center unless otherwise directed 7:30 a.m. for AM tests 11:30 a.m. for PM tests (arrange to eat lunch at 11:00) Check all electronic devices with test proctors Failure to do so WILL result in your AP exam NOT BEING SCORED!

YOU MUST REMAIN IN THE TESTING ROOM UNTIL YOU ARE DISMISSED AT THE OFFICIAL END TIME FOR THE EXAM LEAVING THE TESTING ROOM BEFORE THE OFFICIAL END TIME FOR THE EXAM WILL RESULT IN YOUR EXAM NOT BEING SCORED TESTING TIME CONTINUES IF YOU GO TO THE RESTROOM DURING TESTING (THIS IS A TIMED TEST)

BRING TO THE AP EXAM ROOM Several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers for completing multiple-choice answer sheets Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams A watch (in case the exam room does not have a clock that can be easily seen)

Social security number (optional) Calculator with necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics exam Ruler or straightedge if you are taking an AP Physics exam Your ID

DO NOT BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM Cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, Ipods, pagers, or any other electronic or communication devices (unless you check them with the test proctors) Books, compasses, colored pencils, correction fluid or tape, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of exam booklets

Computers or calculators (except as previously noted) (computers may be checked with test proctors) Watches that beep or have an alarm Portable listening or recording devices—even with headphones—or photographic equipment Food or drink Clothing with subject-related information

PREPARE NOW! Work on your writing skills-write, write, write Complete all assigned reading Participate in study sessions scheduled by your teacher Complete all reviews Form study groups with other students in your class Relax the weekend before, knowing you are ready!
