Transfer Degree vs. Associates Degree › Transfer: To help you prep for 4-year university. Generally just your basic core classes › Associates: Particular set of classes for a degree after 2 years. Includes basic core as well Some 3 - 12-month programs offered › Examples: HVAC Program, Corrections Technicians, 911 Dispatcher, Bookkeeper, Pharmacy Technician, Food Service Common Community College Programs: › Auto Tech, Mechanics, Nursing, Dental Assisting, Business/Accounting, Fire Science Different possible pathways…

Walking in: Join right out of high school › Serve in military, then go to college › Career tech training is provided while serving ROTC : Go to college right out of HS, while in military › Serve in military after college at an officer ranking › Must apply to college then apply for ROTC through branch of service of choice › Not every college has every branch › Free to go to college, like a scholarship Military Academy : Most difficult option (top 5%) › Go to military college, leave as officer ranking, then serve › Very long, intense process - starts junior year › Free to go to college
