ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 Engine management MAGNETI Marelli 5FS3 RESET of Learnt values This new system is modern and sophisticated. The “adaptive functions” allow the ECU to store many values ( learnt values) concerning the adjustments on all the engine parts, to correct the management’s strategy. This because consumption, malfunctions and so on, on mechanical and electric components can change the good functionality and pollution of the engine, causing also wrong learnt values in memory. Through this function, all these values can be restored to the original value. Anyway, once cleared all learnt value, the Ecu needs to be learn again what is installed and how it is working. To do that, simply proceed remembering to “ use “ some components with engine running, like: 1. A/C system; enough to switch it ON 2. ABS system, just take a tour on the road and use it 3. Kind of transmission ( A/T or M/T), just using the clutch pedal

Usually this is carried out in case of throttle body replacing or if there are problems with engine’s idle. The function is automatically performed by the ECU, just running it and following displayed indications

ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 Engine Management MAGNETI Marelli 5FS3 RPM sensor signal adaptation Marelli 59F (Punto 99, Seicento, Panda, Doblò etc.), Marelli IAW5SF3 (Grande Punto) In some Marelli systems, the ECU is able to manage a self-adaptive concerning many parts of electric/electronic components, including the signal of the RPM sensor. The function clears the learnt values by the ECU. If “ RESET of Learnt values” will be performed, or in case of RPM sensor replacing, the MIL LAMP will work intermittent (no fault shown by autodiagnostic); this values must be learnt from the ECU as a “ basic setting”. Marelli 59F (Punto 99, Seicento, Panda, Doblò, etc.), Marelli IAW5SF3 (Grande Punto): - Proceed as follows: 1) warm up the engine 2) increase the engine speed three times to 4500RPM and keep it for 3 seconds each time. It allows saving the injector codes in the new ECU, resetting the injection times correction ( main & pilot injection time correction), according to the O2 sensor signal). Procedure: 1 = Enter the driven mileage (or kilometres) value. The amount entered must be 6 digits; for example, to indicate 3000 Km enter 003000. 2 = Enter the codes of each injectors installed on the vehicle. ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 Injectors Coding In case of injector replacing, each injector code must be written in the Ecu’s memory because “ fuel quantity deviation”. Normally, the injectors are supplied with their relevant identification numbers that are however printed on their body. Engine Management MARELLI 1.3 MJ PUNTO 05 RPM sensor signal adaptation Like in Marelli 5FS3 Oil change ( F.A.P. equipped only) The following procedure allows updating the unit parameters concerning the engine oil replacement. This procedure is necessary every time the engine oil is replaced on vehicles with FAP filter.

To complete correctly the operation (mainly concerning IGNITION ON and OFF), just follow carefully the displayed messages. O2 sensor replacement The following procedure resets the learnt values concerning diesel quantity injection correction through the signal sent by the O2 sensor, in case of sensor replacement.

The function resets the learnt values concerning the PILOT injection quantity correction (according to the injector ageing) and the main injection quantity correction (according to the O2 sensor signal).

This procedure is necessary when replacing the pre-catalyser on vehicles with FAP filter. Engine Management 1.3 MJ PUNTO 05 DPFS sensor adaptation The following procedure resets the leart values regarding the DELTA PRESSURE FEEDBACK measured by a dedicated sensor, according to the signals sent by the lambda probe. This procedure is necessary in case of replacement of that sensor. Autotest Use this procedure to check the functionalities of Solenoid valves and electric pump in the ABS hydraulic box. ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 Electric Steering PUNTO 05 Steering weel sensor calibration Proceed as follows to perform a correct steering angle position sensor calibration: 1) place the vehicle in a flat surface 2) stop the vehicle 3) Put the steering wheel in the middle position, straight wheels 4) do not apply any loads to the steering wheel 5) launch the procedure Check the correct procedure completion by driving the vehicle (30 km/h), moving the steering wheel in both direction (full range, Right and Left) and verify that the steering wheel comes back to the middle position (tolerance around +/- 20 degree).

The cards can be individually or consecutively programmed. Before performing the procedure please make sure to have the 12 digit safety code issued by the authorized Renault dealer. IMPORTANT The function must be performed with the panel off and NOT in STANDBY mode. The panel is off when the indications regarding hour and external temperature are not displayed. The panel is in STANDBY mode when no indications are displayed. Carefully follow the messages shown when performing the procedure.

Normally, the following values can be found: 1000 W 1800 W Resistance setting (1000W/1800W ) The function allows to set the heating resistance value installed. The following must be set according to the equipment provided. 1000 W 1800 W no resistance

Start the operation that will automatically perform the configuration.

ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 IVECO DAILY – Immobilizer What’s new in 3.70 Key Coding The key programming function is enabled, just obtain the vehicle’s CODE CARD for the electronic code entry and follow the instructions. For a correct operation it is suggested to: 1) perform programming making sure that the procedure will not be abandoned during the codification. 2) always program ALL the available keys (max 3 key accepted). However, if one excluded from the above mentioned procedure, it DOESN’T mean it is permanently cancelled (unusable) like in other systems.

The following procedure activates or deactivates the radio, Door locking system and the courtesy lights.

ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 VW GROUP – Manual adaptations This functions enables the ADAPTATIONS mode, which is used in modifying or clearing values by the ECU PLEASE NOTE: These functions are intended for experienced users only, and require the appropriate service manuals. The ECU rejects usually improper entries. A formally acceptable but wrong entry may worsen or prohibit the system operation, and may set codes in several systems, since the ECUs communicate via a common data line (CAN bus). This is NOT caused by the equipment but by the entered unsuitable values. Rectification may need to be done by an authorized service. The procedure: After selecting the function, the desired channel number is selected, and the new value is entered. The channels and entered values vary between type, model and system. In order to carry out the procedure correctly both the Adjustment Channel number and the entry must be consulted from the appropriate system manual. There are no generic or common references. The following example is for reference only. Key adaptation to one of the immobilizer types: 1) select the function 2) enter the channel No., and then 000000; learnt key codes are cleared 3) press the quit key 4) turn the key off and on again; the code will be relearned. The available time is usually 15 seconds 5) if the operation was not successful, the ECU usually sets a fault Code. Check the code display. ANY ACTUAL MODIFICATIONS MUST BE DONE FOLLOWING THE APPROPRIATE MANUAL

PLEASE NOTE: These functions are intended for experienced users only, and require the appropriate service manuals. The ECU rejects usually improper entries. A formally acceptable but wrong entry may worsen or prohibit the system operation, and may set codes in several systems, since the ECUs communicate via a common data line (CAN bus). This is NOT caused by the equipment but by the entered unsuitable values. Rectification may need to be done by an authorized service. The desired mode and the assembly address must be selected correctly in order to access the functions. The addresses and entries vary between models, and can be found in the applicable system manual only. The following examples are for reference only: Adjustment of the Basic Timing (certain distributor systems): The correct address vary, and the entries must be known and entered correctly. - the assembly address is 00; enter it as 000000 - adjust the timing by turning the distributor to obtain the correct timing Other addresses are needed for the devices the ECU must learn Example: certain electronically operated throttle systems have the address 98, entered 000098. ANY ACTUAL MODIFICATIONS MUST BE DONE FOLLOWING THE APPROPRIATE MANUAL

ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 AIRBAG TEMIC GRUPPO PSA This procedure is used to set the ECU airbag according to the installed components/units. Settings consist in activating or deactivating components selecting them one by one from the list. A great help could be reading and writing down the installed/not installed unit from the old ECU before replacing it, and entering them in the new ECU once installed. WARNING This step is ESSENTIAL to have the AIRBAG properly working, and for this reason ALL the installed units on the vehicle should be activated. This procedure is considered made under fully responsibility of the operator. AirBag configuration / setting

ATA – TECNOTEST T & M Autodiagnostic 3.70 - 30.03.06 What’s new in 3.70 MERCEDES TRUCKS ACTROS – SERVICE RESET The following function sets the maintenance date in the indicated system. It is an automatic procedure. Follow the displayed messages. ATTENTION If the message 'zeroing failure' is displayed, the date (day-month-year) of the zeroing instrument used is not correct, since the function is based on the diagnostics equipment information (day-month-year) as a reference for maintenance operation dates. In such case, correct the data in the 'Date/Hour' section through the authorized service and repeat the procedure.

If the clutch will be replaced the range distance must be entered after the extended initialization procedure has been performed (large initialization), referring to the 'Clutch stroke' parameter shown in the specific section. Note: when entering the data the clutch must NOT be released; allowable value: 0-3000 Clutch actuator position: New clutch The maximum clutch range value can be set. If it will be replaced, the amount must be entered after the extended initialization procedure has been performed (large initialization), referring to the 'Learning maximum clutch' parameter shown in the specific section. NOTE: allowable value: 0-3000

The double disc one is for V8 engines, the single disc one is for V6 motors. Double disc clutch parameter: 5.373 mm Single disc clutch parameter: 4.369 mm ECAM system by haldex is an electronically controlled system for distribution and drying of compressed air in brake systems for heavy vehicles. Thru this part of software it will be possible to diagnose it using autodiagnostic. Pneumatic management – Brakes - Haldex ECAM
