7. 7 Absalom didn’t call it rebellion but it was 2 Sam 15:1-2 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. 2 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

16. 16 Very serious indeed for those who know the will of God and fail Christians today know what God expects of us as his children and we have no excuse when we sin, because we knew better Regardless of degrees of punishment, we know what he is saying here. We deserve greater punishment for rebelling against God when we know what he demands and by our own will we choose to fail him.
