The Geolocations plugin for Omeka provides a visual representation of an item’s location. The administrator adds location data on the back end and the user sees Google maps for each item. This gives users the information they need if they want to visit the physical items.

Go to the Settings page on your Omeka site. Click the Omeka Plugins Directory link at the bottom of the page. Download the latest Geolocations zip file. Unzip the file and upload it to your Omeka site via WinSCP or Cyberduck. Click the install button for the plugin on your Omeka site.

The user sees the map image but does not see the location metadata. The map does not link directly to GoogleMaps. Without either of those features, the user cannot get point-to-point directions in order to visit the physical item.
