Invalidating the Word of God Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” How can mere mortals invalidate “the power of God”? Matthew 15:6

Invalidating the Word of God The word translated as invalidate in Matt.15:6 is the Greek term akuroo (ak-oo-ro-o). It means to render void, to deprive of force and authority. Although God’s word is powerful enough to all of mankind, the limiting factor is man’s willingness to “believe”- or the lack thereof. Thus by unbelief, the power to save of God’s word is “made of none effect” (KJV).
4
How else can/do we Invalidate the Word of God? By allowing the Devil to take it away, Luke 8:12ff >we contribute with shallow roots, v.13 >and worries, riches, and pleasures, v.14 By prejudice, Matt.13:14-15 >racial prejudice, “yes” but... >more often the prejudice of our own will through what we want it to say, or lack of submission
5
How else can/do we Invalidate the Word of God? By causing division, John 17:20-21 >we rob many of the world the opportunity to see and believe in the power of God’s word. By holding to human traditions, Matt.15:1-9 >Leaders of the restoration movement stood for only what they could prove by Scripture. >Anything less invalidates the Word of God!

How else can/do we Invalidate the Word of God? By not loving Truth enough, 2Thess.2:10-12 >We can love family more, Luke 14:26 >We can love self more, Luke 14:27 >We can love money more, 1Tim.6:10 >We can love praise more, John 12:42-43 >We can love man’s wisdom more, 1Cor.1:17-25 By hypocrisy, Matt.18:5-10

God’s Word is divinely powerful to save! But through His wisdom, its power to save must be activated by our belief and obedience. Otherwise, we make it of “none effect.” Has God’s power to save been effected on you? Or, has it been made of none effect through the shallow roots of spiritual immaturity, prejudice, insufficient love, division, human wisdom, or hypocrisy? Let’s change that starting right now!
