2 Agenda  Bellwork  Project Proposal Chat/Troubleshooting  Sample Proposal Evaluation  Homework: Keep thinking about your project, and who your mentor could be!  Due dates to consider: October 2 nd your proposal DRAFT is due in class October 10 th your final proposal and awareness forms are due

3 Bellwork 9/12/13  What are you thinking about doing for your senior project?  If you have NO idea, write down some of the hobbies/interests you have  Who do you think you could ask to be your mentor?  What’s your goal/motivation for this project?  To do something you’ve always wanted to do, but didn’t have time/reason?  To help other people?  To preview a career possibility?  To just get it done?

4 Senior Project Proposals  With your partner, read over the proposal and complete the following steps on your Post-It: ** Please don’t write on the proposals OR the Yes Test! 1. Write the subject of the proposal on the top line 2. Go through each step of the Yes Test. If you say “No” at any point, record what failed and a brief explanation of why (“N/A” or “Not Applicable” may be the answer in some cases) 3. If your proposal passes, write 2-3 words describing what made it acceptable (like “detailed,” “challenging”, etc.). If it does not, write 2-3 words describing what was lacking

5 What makes a proposal acceptable?  As you listen to groups share out, please write down all the descriptors for a passing proposal.  Think about your project idea-do you think it can meet those standards? Why or why not?
