Olympics Games I winter Olympics Games Russia won. Our sportsmen got 13 gold medals: 1 medal in biathlon, 2 medals in bobsleigh, in skiing we got 1 medal, 1 medal in skeleton, 2 – in snowboard, 3 – in figure skating, 3 medals in short-track. Our country has 11silver medals: 2 medals in biathlon, 3 medals in skating, 2 – in toboggan, there is 1 medal in speed skating, snowboard, figure skating and short-track; And has 9 bronze medals: our sportsmen got 1 medal in biathlon, skiing, skeleton, snowboard, figure skating, freestyle and short-track, 2 medals in speed skating.

Lots of people in the world are fond of sport, because it’s not only healthy, but also spectacular and exciting. For these reason people have started the Olympic Games. They have appeared in 776 BC in Ancient Greece, where people every four years held festivals to please the ancient God Zeus. The old tradition to hold the Games every four years was also revived. So, from then on the Olympic Games took place every four years in different cities of the world. At certain times, such as Second World War, the games were forbidden.

Standard Olympics Games slogan: «Faster. Higher. Stronger» Slogan Olympics Sochi 2014: «Hot. Cool. Yours» Word “hot” means sportsmen fight and passions for spectators in the Olympic competitions. Word “cool” means during the Olympics - winter. Word “yours” means everyone can empathize and celebrate victories sportsmen.

XXII winter Olympics Games were in Russia – in Sochi. They were start on the 7 th of February 2014

The important part in Olympics Games is a olympics fire. In Olympics 2014 created 2 views Olympics Torch: blue and red. Our sportsmen run around all Russia. Relay begans on the 7 th of October 2013. Olympics fire was in 83 regions and 2900 towns: Tver, Smolensk, Tula, Vladimir, Moscow, Bryansk, under the Bykal,Sea, in the mountains, in the space etc.

Emblem Olympics Games are 5 colors linked rings. They represent five continents: blue is Europe, yellow is Asia, red is America, green is Australia, black is Africa.

Big Ice hockey arena will be the main palace during the Olympic Games. The Ice Palace, located in the Olympic Park, is designed for 12,000 spectators. Its putting into operation is planned for May 2012.

The first figure skater in Russia was Nikolas Panin. He won the gold medal of figure skating in Olympics Games in the United Kingdom of Great Britain in London in1908. The real surname of Nikolas Panin – Kolomenkin. He invented it because it`s a simpler surname for foreigners. Nikolas chose it for his Olympic sport programme at the international competitions.

. Nikolas Kolomenkin was born 8 th January 1872 in the village Hrenovoe Voronezh region. In 1882 he moved with his mother and 2 sisters in St Petersburg. Later Nikolas entered in St Petersburg's university (1893/98). Kolomenkin was fond of skating, track-and-field athletics, swimming, skiing, he played football and ice hockey.. In 1901 Nikolas Panin took part in All-Russian competition «Art skating», fulfilled all tasks, got gold medal and title of the best Russian skater

When Nikolas was adult, he began working in financial deportment at St. Petersburg's exchequer. Due to Kolomenkin a lot of time spent of figure skating some members of the financial deportment wanted dismiss him. But he was shore sport is guarantee of health. So Nikolas Kolomenkin continued to do skating, took part in different kinds of competitions and taught his students.

Kolomenkin won and got many medals. Nikolas was fond of not only figure skater and he was an excellent trainer and teacher. He wrote something books about figure skating. For fundamental scientific advances and teaching career he was awarded the title of associate professor and the degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences. We are proud of Nikolas Kolomenkin!
