Mini-Skit: “Say Something”

How many different ways are there to say… “I have nothing to say” What are some situations that a person could use this in? What are some attitudes or emotions that a person could have when saying this?

Practice this skit with the person next to you: A: Well, do you have something to say? B: What do you want me to say? A: I don’t know. B: I have nothing to say. A: Nothing? B: That’s right. What is the situation? Who are the speakers? What is their relationship to one another? How do they feel?

Practice this skit with the person next to you: A: Well, do you have something to say? B: What do you want me to say? A: I don’t know. B: I have nothing to say. A: Nothing? B: That’s right. Practice this for the following situations: (1) They are shy high school friends (a boy and a girl) (2) They are a married couple, and one of them had an affair with someone else… (i) “B” had the affair (ii) “A” had the affair
