Thesis To learn the different roles of sports in two different societies ( in USA and Argentina)

Sports Played in U.S.A. Baseball, American football, basketball, soccer, hockey (ice and field), tennis, volleyball, wrestling, track & field, golf, lacrosse, etc.

Sports Played in Argentina Pato, Fútbol (soccer), Rugby, Basketball, Hockey (Field and ice), boxing, polo, golf, tennis, handball, etc.

Contrast U.S.A. Competitive Many people involved Practice often Offered through schools Public (no pay) Argentina Not competitive (play for fun) Few people involved A couple hours of practice per week. Private institutes.

Survey in USA People involved in sports: 100% Age involved in sports: approx. 8 years Sports involved in: boys: majority American football also soccer, baseball, wrestling, and basketball. Girls: soccer, softball, tennis, and field hockey.

Survey in Argentina People involved in sports: 50% Age involved in sports: in 6 th grade Sports involved in: boys: majority soccer (football) and 10% of the boys basketball and volleyball. girls: majority volleyball and handball.
