What is child labor? ► The regular, full-time employment of children under a legally defined age in factories, stores, offices, etc.: in the U.S., the minimum legal age under federal law is 16.

Labor Stats ► Bangladesh makes up >2% of worlds population ► 6.6 million of children in Bangladesh working ► 5% of working children in the world ► Children range from age 5 years old to 14 years old

Typical Work Schedule ► Work about 48hrs. a week ► Earn about 60 Taka an hr. (about $0.87) ► Earn less than 500 Taka a month (a lil less than $7.30)

Types of Jobs ► Shrimp processing ► Auto repair ► Electrical work ► Stone skippers ► Welders

Affects of child labor ► Grow up to be shorter ► Muscular, chest, and abdominal pain ► Respirator infections ► Dizziness and headaches ► Diarrhea and worm infections ► Victims of sexual and verbal abuse ► Punishment by starvation
