Barneskole (primary school) There are some three thousand primary schools, of which around 6% are private or independent (16 of them are located abroad) and of which 98 offers special education.

You aren’t able to choose your own subjects there are from 4 up to 6 lessons a day, 45 minutes each. In general there are no meals at school available. Mainly are there computers available to the students

Ungdomsskole (lower secondary school) Grade 8 to 10 Pupils get marks the first time They can now choose between different languages (Spanish, French, German)

Vidergående skole (upper secondary school) Unlike before, pupils have to pay for their materials Includes grade 11 to 13 There are many different types for different subjects as art or economy

After vidergående skole, pupils can study at the university
