The Rules 5 Major Areas of Risk Steps teens can take to substantially reduce their risk and parental worries. 1. Always wear a seatbelt 2. Avoid distractions 3. Impaired drivers 4. Inexperienced drivers 5. Unsafe drivers

Passenger Agreements Think about the 5 Rules! Who is your teen allowed to ride with? What are the consequences if they do not follow the rules? What are the rewards if they do follow the rules?

Implementation Community Based 1 ½ hours Traditional format Parent and teen have time to discuss contract in the class setting Teen does not speak freely about what truly happens in the car You tend to reach teens who have parents that are already very involved and discussing these issues.
