Emotional experiences seem deeper and more intense.
May also produce extreme anxiety, fear, paranoia, distortions

Flashback- feeling the effects of a hallucinogen long after effects worn off

Increase energy, alter mood, create strange thoughts & feelings/sensations, swings
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, bizarre body sensations

5. LSD Long Term Effects Flashbacks Bad Trip Synesthesia
Some LSD users relive their experiences after the effects of the drug have worn off.
Bad Trip
A negative experience on LSD, it can leave you traumatized for days or even weeks.
Synesthesia
Sensory perceptions may blend in which a person seems to hear or feel colors and see sounds.

Similar effects as LSD
Eaten raw or mixed with food
Effects- altered perceptions of sight, sound, taste, smell, touch
Confusion, anxiety, panic
Flashbacks may occur-days, weeks

Small, spineless cactus in which the principal active ingredient is mescaline

PCP (phencyclidine) was developed in the 1950s as an anesthetic. It was discontinued due to side effects.
White crystalline powder. It has a distinctive bitter chemical taste.

10. Ketamine Taken- snorted Initially used as a vet tranquilizer
Effects- Increased awareness of senses, loss judgment

11. Ecstasy Swallowed or snorted
Effects- Increased awareness of senses, mild hallucinations, loss judgment, increased energy
The awareness of senses explains some of the rave behavior

12. Ecstasy
Side Effects- muscle tension, teeth clenching, impaired learning & memory, nausea, chills, rapid/irregular heart beat, high blood pressure, heart attack, brain damage, death.
Inability to regulate temperature

Health Consequences- Impaired learning & memory, overheating, rapid/irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, heart attack, death
Depression due to receptor degeneration
