Jujuy is a place where the houses are made of straw, stones and mud.

The animals

Guanaco The guanaco is a camel native of South America that is about 107 and 122 cm tall and weighs about 90 kg. Its colour varies very little, ranging from a light brown to dark cinnamon and shading to white underneath. Guanacos have grey faces and small straight ears. They are very striking with their large, alert brown eyes, streamlined form, and energetic pace. Young guanacos are called chulengos.

Puma The cougar (Puma), is a mammal of the Felidae family, native of the Americas. An adaptable, generalist species, the cougar is found in every major American habitat type. It is the second heaviest cat in the Western Hemisphere, after the jaguar. Although large, the cougar is closely related to smaller felines and is closer genetically to the domestic cat than to true lions.

Sheep Domestic sheep are relatively small ruminants, usually with a crimped hair called wool and often with horns forming a lateral spiral. A few primitive breeds of sheep retain some of the characteristics of their wild cousins, such as short tails. Depending on breed, domestic sheep may have no horns at all, or horns in both sexes, or in males only. Most horned breeds have a single pair, but a few breeds may have several.
