2 What is Assertive Mentoring? The child has a mentor meeting, so they can celebrate their successes and discuss their next steps in learning Assessment: Children then re-assessed during the next half term

5 Assertive Mentoring: What and When? Each child will have a Each child will have a Mentor. This will usually be their Class Teacher They will meet every term Mentor Meetings last 15 minutes Meetings may include parents and children The child’s next steps in learning are discussed (their targets) The child’s targets are stuck in their book The parents get a copy, so parents know how best to help their child Children are assessed every half term and their targets are set, based on those assessments
