Buy-In is Critical! ATTEMPT #1 Principal Says “we will do this”. Staff Says “Hmmm, don’t think so”. ATTEMPT #2 Teacher presents information about PBIS and explains the benefits Staff asked to experiment 1 st semester and give feedback Whole school kick-off second semester

How Are We After Year Six? We were told that the greatest challenge is with high schools. We are focusing on our faculty as well as our students. We are continuing to get faculty members to buy-in to the PBIS approach. Our focus/theme is FAMILY, COMMITMENT and RENEWAL.

Look Beyond the Data… Don’t just focus on the numbers. Spend time re-building morale and relationships among your staff. Better staff climate will translate into better student climate. Look at the culture of your school. Be willing to have those “courageous conversations”.
