Self Portraiture When drawing a portrait it is important to get every feature in the correct position on the face. Start by lightly sketching in the facial features and darkening the drawing once you have everything drawn.

Drawing the Eyes The eyes are probably going to be the focal point and starting point for most of you.

Drawing the Nose The nose can be broken down into parts.

Drawing the Mouth Keep the top lip longer than the bottom lip for a more realistic drawing

Your Self Portrait! You will have a photograph of your self to look at AND a mirror. Use the photograph to see the general composition of your face. Use the mirror to look at your facial features close up.

Color and Emotion You will be drawing with colored pencils on colored construction paper. Think about how the colors you choose will change the MOOD of the portrait.
