4 There are many effective coping techniques and often people will use more than one to resolve their stress.

5 Information Seeking

6 A common coping technique in which a person searches for detailed information (from many venues) to increase awareness about a situation that has become a perceived threat.

7 Social Orchestration

8 A coping technique in which one either changes stress-producing factors in one’s environment, or one changes one’s environment; the path of least resistance.

9 Social Support Groups

10 A coping technique in which one nurtures relationships with and among friends, family members, and others whose company acts to buffer the ill effects of stress.
