M. De MazièreAGACC-II 3 rd FUC meeting, 18/12/2013 Perspectives WP1 Continuation of TCCON and NDACC observations at both stations at Ile de La Réunion, with focus on NDACC at Maido and TCCON at St Denis Extension of timeseries at Jungfraujoch Further work on understanding of discrepancy between CH 4 from MIR and NIR spectra and on comparisons of CO between NIR and MIR Geophysical analyses of first TCCON timeseries Contributions to WMO 2014 Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion

M. De MazièreAGACC-II 3 rd FUC meeting, 18/12/2013 Perspectives WP2 Further work on PAN, acetone and CH 3 Cl retrievals at La Réunion – in particular at Maido and on PAN, acetone, CH 3 Cl retrievals at Jungfraujoch Re-analysis / improvement of C 2 H 4, C 2 H 6 and H 2 CO data at Jungfraujoch and La Réunion with improved spectroscopic data and common retrieval strategies where feasible Finalisation of HCFC-142b time series Final time series of CFC-11, CFC-12 and HCFC-22 have been produced from 2000 onwards. They will be combined with the HCFC-142b and either with the CCl 4 or CF 4 weighted contributions to generate ‘final’ CCl y and CF y total column budgets. Updated H 2 CO comparisons at Jungfraujoch between MAXDOAS and FTIR observations

(E-profile, EUMETNET) Data from the LIDAR-ceilometer at Uccle will be used to test calibration algorithms for a working group of TOPROF (COST). Implement changes to OPAC in order to get more accurate results for the modeled AOD and SSA values. Further investigation of correlations between the source regions of the aerosols and the observed AOD and SSA and their relation with meteorological conditions. Installation of nephelometer

M. De MazièreAGACC-II 3 rd FUC meeting, 18/12/2013 Perspectives WP3 – cont’d Publication with the results of the linear trend analysis, change point analysis and multiple linear trend analysis of erythemal UV dose, global solar radiation, total ozone and AOD at 320nm from Brewer data. Analysis of all aerosol data in Uccle. Further study the observed aerosol characteristics, and their influence on and by meteorological conditions such as clouds and/or the boundary layer height. Study of diurnal cycle, looking for links with meteorological and/or traffic conditions. study of radiative forcing by aerosols, based on data base of measurements available in Uccle and radiative transport modelling

M. De MazièreAGACC-II 3 rd FUC meeting, 18/12/2013 Perspectives WP 4 Analysis of CIMEL and MAXDOAS data in Bujumbura Exploitation of MAXDOAS measurements in Bujumbura, including interpretation using ancillary data (from 3D chemistry transport models and satellite measurements) Investigation of transport of emissions and their impact on measurements in Bujumbura and Reunion Island (using FLEXPART dispersion modeling)
14
M. De MazièreAGACC-II 3 rd FUC meeting, 18/12/2013 Conclusions AGACC-II (Jan. 2011- end 2014) progresses as planned: The most important problem has been the delay of the installation of the MAXDOAS and CIMEL instruments in Burundi due to manpower problems. We foresee to achieve the objectives almost completely.
