Your task Save a copy of this presentation with your names in the title. Discuss and devise your own web enquiry, choosing a topic, possibly about your own country, which you feel offers potential for students from another country to investigate which would support developing their international understanding. You will not have time to finish this, but try and find 2 or three sites which would be helpful and copy their web addresses and think of questions to ask the students. Some topics might include: – Sustainable homes – Growing more food – Coping with natural hazards Use the approach and structure on the next two slides to help you develop the enquiry. You can use several slides to develop the enquiry or copy and paste it into a word processor and work from there. Save your finished work to the Training project area.

Web enquiries Each web enquiry has a stimulus and a big question for students to engage with. Structure your enquiry – You should then provide a series of structured enquiry questions with web-links. It is about not only retrieving information but also questioning the validity of that information. It is about creating a critical literacy among students. It should use questions like: Who is the source of information? What is the purpose of that information? What is their motivation? Who is represented ? Who isn't represented? How does the website persuade us? Are there alternative views?
