Cubist Portraits Picasso used two different angles when he created a portrait. He used a profile view and a frontal view of the face. He always drew a line in the middle to separate the two views.
6
Profile You can only see one eye, one ear, and half of the mouth. The nose is sticking off the face with only one nostril showing. You can see the outline of the face.
7
Frontal You can see both eyes, both ears, and the whole mouth. The nose is in the center of the head and you can see both nostrils. You can not see the outline of the face.
8
Day 1: Drawing the portrait Start off by drawing the shape of your head. Next put a line down the center of the head to separate the profile view from the frontal view. Draw the eyes nose mouth in profile on the side designated as profile and draw the eyes nose and mouth in a frontal view on the side the side that is frontal. In the background, make different geometric shapes by connecting two rays at a vertices.
9
Day 2: Outlining With Black Glue Trace over each line with the black glue. Keep your elbows up. Stand up. Turn your paper longways, like a hot dog, not tall like a building. Start at the upper left hand corner and move from left to right and top to bottom.
