1.Counterfeit/fake makeup ● There are many expensive makeup brands {eg. Mac, Urban Decay,Benefit etc.} ● Some people may try to make money and sell fake copies of brands like these (usually online) at a cheaper cost.

★ A fake MAC eyeliner sold on amazon at £3.50 (usually £14) contained over 40 times the amount of copper permitted, -very dangerous to use on the eyes. ★ Paint stripper has been found in fake mascaras and eyeliners bought online. ★ Fake perfumes and colognes are sometimes made with human urine -leads to skin rash, acne or psoriasis.

● These fake copies can be potentially fatal to the eyes and face and even the brain- can contain dangerous chemicals such as arsenic mercury, copper and lead. ● The profits made from people buying fake makeup are usually used to fund drugs smuggling and terrorism.. ● Fake makeup can trigger eye infections (pink/red-eye) etc or even lead poisoning - affects major organs. NB.Only buy makeup online if its from a licensed seller and has a batch no.

2. What’s really in makeup? (not necessarily fake makeup -everyday, normal makeup) ★ Lipstick & Lipgloss: Lipsticks and lipglosses usually contain Lanolin which is grease from animal fur- generally sheeps wool.

Lanolin, which is a thick greasy substance is actually good for the skin {even though its disgusting}and scientists have found ways to remove the impurities from it. It is what gives lipstick and lipgloss its moisturising qualities.

★ Expensive Perfume: Some very expensive perfumes contain Whale Vomit -also known as Ambergris. Not used as much as it once was. It is worth a lot of money - $20 for one gram. It makes perfume last a lot longer on the skin.
