Linear Writing Linear writing is used to construct a linear narrative, which is also called a “story.” Short stories, novels, plays, teleplays, and screenplays are forms of linear narrative.

Interactive Writing Interactive writing is used to construct an interactive or non-linear narrative. Many newer computer games and video games, interactive and educational CDs and DVDs, and Web sites are examples of interactive narrative. Worlds games tend to include numerous interactive narratives simultaneously.
