3. Can / could We use the modals can/could to talk about ability. To form a sentence with can or could. We use the words can or could + base form of the verb. She can dance every day. لنتكلم عن اشياء نستطيع عملها او ان تكون ممكنه. نضع كلمة can او could قبل الفعل الاساسي. I can swim now. Could هي الفعل الماضي لكلمة can ونستعملها للتكلم عن اشياء كان باستطاعتنا ان نعملها في الماضي. I can swim now, but I couldn’t swim when I was 4 years old. He could run very fast when he was young. تعني المقدرة

4. should We use the modal should to give advice or to ask an opinion. *** All the modals and semi – modals come before the base verb.. نستعمل كلمة should لاعطاء نصيحه أو للسوال عن رأي You should eat healthy food. You should not play with fire. We should go now. Should we/you go now ? No, we shouldn’t go now. معناها يجدر بك او ينبغي عليك

5. must We use the word must to talk about necessity. نستعمل كلمة must لنتكلم عن اشياء يجب علينا ان نعملها. You must respect your parents. You must be quiet now. You must pray five times in a day. معناها يجب عليك ليس لك خيار للرفض

6. mustn’t We use the word mustn’t to talk about prohibition. نستعمل كلمة mustn’t لنتكلم عن اشياء ممنوع ان نفعلها ولا يجوز لنا القيام بها. You mustn’t smoke in school. We mustn’t drink alcohol,then drive. They mustn’t swim here. It is very dangerous. معناها المنع التام

8. Semi-modals have to We use have to to talk about necessity too, but not obligation. نستعمل كلمة have to لنتكلم عن اشياء نحن ملزمين ان نفعلها يجب ان نفعلها ولكن لسنا مجبرين. You have to study for the exam. The students have to do their homework every day. Do you have to come to school every day ? You don’t have to come to school if are sick. معناها واجب عليك او انت ملزم
